The early days

Two friends, one big idea

Odd Duck Market grew out of a lifelong friendship and a shared love for good food, genuine hospitality, and neighborhood connection. After launching and selling their first deli, Bubba Slye’s, back in the early 2000's, life went on. Years later, Andrew Hare and Jared Hellman felt pulled back to food and community — this time with a fresh perspective.

Where it all began

Park Circle opens

When Andrew and Jared stumbled upon an old office building in Park Circle in 2023, it felt right. They rolled up their sleeves, brought the idea to life, and opened the first Odd Duck Market — setting the tone for everything that followed. Built with the right team and a strong sense of trust, Park Circle became the foundation that made growth possible.

On to a new neighborhood

Summerville - Now Open

Same ducks, new pond. Our Summerville location is set inside a restored 1873 Victorian in the heart of downtown, with 11-foot ceilings and original mantels that give the space its character. It’s the same good food, genuine hospitality, and familiar faces — just in a new neighborhood we’re proud to call home.

Looking ahead

Hampton Park

We’re heading to Hampton Park in spring 2026. This location will bring the same thoughtful food, coffee, wine, and easygoing hospitality you know from Odd Duck — in a space designed to feel familiar from the start. More details soon.

We do our best to meet guests where they’re at, without compromising the quality of the food we serve. All of our locations offer vegan and gluten-free options, and we swear they're delicious. While we take care in our preparation, our kitchens are not completely gluten-free, so we can’t guarantee no cross-contamination.
